Making pet parenting easy

DogBox Project

The Dogbox project has become a long standing event where people come together and give back by sponsoring and painting ready-made kennels that get distributed throughout our communities to the shelters that are caring for the many animals that don’t have homes.

This year, The Dogbox project welcomed 180 people to their annual kennel painting day. With all the lovely people who joined, we managed to spend the day in bliss and get the creative juices flowing which resulted in 70 beautifully painted kennels.

These kennels then made their way to various rescue groups to give their fur kids a warm and safe space to sleep this winter. With each kennel, the Dogbox project were able to also give a brand new cushion, blanket, a bag of dog food and a beautiful new collar.

Our Pet Heaven team were lucky enough to have joined this event and assisted by painting 3 kennels. We arrived in full smiles (under our masks of course) and set our creativity alight. The team created a dreamy space themed kennel along with a very cute pink and green design with a Welcome Home sign. Our third and final kennel was a blue ombre with polka dots. It was a lovely, heart-warming event to see the community come together and give back in such a nice way.

The DogBox Project originally started off in 2012 as a Mandela Day Initiative but has become an ongoing project due to popular demand. So far they have managed to donate more than 1550 kennels thanks to events like this one. The more donations they receive, the more events they can fund and the more lives we will be able to change. Keep an eye on their Facebook page and website to see when/where the next event will be held.
