Butch is a small, brown Staffie who is super friendly to all people and just loves attention! He is very loyal, gentle and sometimes a bit scared (especially loud noises like fireworks), he is, however, tough as nails and will climb or jump on or over just about anything! He loves going for walks, be it on the mountain or beach. He loves morning naps in the sun and can't wait for people to pat him!

Butch was re-homed as his owners were moving to a pet-free estate and now lives with Genevieve and her husband near Helshoogte in Stellenbosch. He came with his friend Cairo (a much older, female Ridgeback). They were best friends and totally inseparable but Cairo unfortunately passed away last year from old age. Butch took some time to adjust but has now found his happy spirit again.

If Butch were to be compared to a "celebrity", his parents would say Pinky (from Pinky and the Brain). He is extremely happy, energetic and enthusiastic. He does, however, require someone to give him some direction! Cairo was definitely the Brain in the relationship and would often manipulate Butch in order to achieve some devious plan (aka take over the world), this would take the form of stealing food, escaping to explore or cause trouble with the neighbour's dogs!

One of Butch's most-loved traits is how happy he is to see his parents. He wags his tail feverishly, spins around, talks/barks/squeaks, smiles and hugs them no matter what kind of day they've had!

One of his funniest quirks is that he has no concept of a ball, or any dog toy. He also has a habit of chewing anything that is new and expensive (and not a dog toy!)
